Virtual Accounts Overview

Note: Moonwell Virtual Accounts are no longer open to new sign-ups.

We're winding down new account creation. If you already have a Moonwell Virtual Account, sign in to continue using it.

A Moonwell Virtual Account gives you a real U.S. account and routing number for receiving USD, which is automatically converted to USDC and sent to your wallet. It's a simple way to bring traditional payments onchain.

What Is a Virtual Account?

A virtual account is a real U.S. checking account, powered by Bridge. It gives you a genuine account number and routing number that you can use to receive funds, just like any other bank account.

How It Works

When someone sends you USD to your virtual account, the funds are automatically converted to USDC and deposited directly to your wallet. No manual steps required: you share your account details, money comes in, and USDC lands in your wallet.

Why Use a Virtual Account?

Virtual accounts make it easy to receive payments in a way that's familiar to most people and organizations:

  • Payroll: Have your employer deposit your salary directly into your virtual account.

  • Invoices: Receive payments from clients using traditional ACH transfers.

  • Payments: Get paid for services without asking customers to understand crypto.

  • Wire transfers: Accept wire transfers and receive USDC.

The sender uses normal banking rails, and you receive spendable USDC in your own wallet.

What You Get

When you create a virtual account, you receive:

  • A real U.S. account number

  • A routing number

  • Automatic USD to USDC conversion

  • Direct deposits to your connected wallet
